Work Methodology

We employ a structured approach to management of wealth.

Understanding the family’s situation and overall context is crucial to our planning and management of the wealth. This includes understanding the  business assets, if any.

Understanding your risk profile

There are many aspects that drive one’s tolerance for risk.  Income flow is one such aspect. We work with you in estimating cash flows, including from your operating business, as a pre-cursor to recommending asset allocation.  We also help you think through your tolerance for risk, as measured by your ability to handle temporary mark-down of investments.

Asset Allocation & Investments
Based on the above we finalize both long-term as well as tactical Asset Allocation. Thereafter, we continuously evaluate a range of investment alternatives across all asset classes.  Since our incentives are aligned to generating the highest risk-adjusted, post-tax and post-fee returns, we have no incentive to favour a particular fund house or manager.

Risk management
We manage risk by setting and monitoring limits on a variety of factors, including but not limited to exposure to a fund house, manager and individual security. Risk management also entails a continuous scan of global and local macro factors including key variables such as inflation, interest rates and fund flows, and assessing the likely impact of these variables on the investment portfolio.  Generating real returns entails taking risk – however, the key is to understand the risks, assess whether one is bing adequately compensated for them, and to try and mitigate them.

Consolidated reporting
We provide incisive and in depth reporting of the performance of your portfolio at regular intervals. We deconstruct sources of performance with a view to understand what worked and why. Our reporting seeks to cut through the clutter of data to focus on the most relevant issues at any given point in time.

What we offer is end-to-end investment advice based on your individualised family requirement.
